Public space / Harreman project
Harreman is a Basque word that means relationship. It’s formed by the verbs HARTU (Receive) and EMAN (Give).
This project was born in 2015, when Reskate had the opportunity to undertake an artist residency in Vienna to explore the expressive power of photo-luminescent paint. Through the use of this special pigment and carefully crafted light installations, the artists draw attention to topics related to the place where the artwork is located. These striking murals offer an image that is completed at nightfall. If the wall is accessible to people, they can interact with the work using light, creating a response to their actions.
Reskate has developed these large-scale murals in Catalonia, Extremadura, the Basque Country, France, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, Romania, the United States and China.
With the "Eulalia" project in Mérida (Extremadura), Reskate won first prize in the "Site-Specific" category at the Junceda Awards, awarded by the Association of Illustrators of Catalonia.
Harreman project has been exhibited at venues such as Galería Miscelanea, Museu Picasso in Barcelona or RCR Arquitectes.
